New software company Reverb Foundry has announced the release of the company's first offering, HD•Cart high density reverb, modeled after one of the most sought-after and expensive reverb units of all time.
Here's what they say:
It was next to impossible to walk into almost any professional recording studio in the mid to late 1980s - and for many years after - and not have one be in the room somewhere. So many of the most cherished and well known recordings of all time owe a large part of their ambience and overall sound to this iconic state of the art (at the time) processor.
There's an expansion set for this unit – the only set of programs to take full advantage of its considerable processing power. These programs were capable of either doing surround or High Density reverb. The surround mode takes a stereo input and produces four-channel "quadraphonic" output. The HD mode basically mixes the quad outputs down to two-channel stereo, resulting in denser, richer audio unlike any other reverb processor.
Reverb Foundry's new HD•Cart delivers that hard to find set of programs in a plug-in.
HD•Cart is the first in a series of plug-ins from Reverb Foundry. HD•Cart in is available right now in AU, AAX and VST for Mac and PC. The $199 selling price includes two master licenses valid for all available formats and platforms.
