Sampleson has released Haptic Perc, a virtual instrument and effect that allows you to turn ordinary objects into percussion instruments. Here's what they say:
Haptic Perc opens up a world of possibilities by transforming ordinary items, such as jars, plates, or even hand claps, into dynamic percussion instruments. This plugin provides a hands-on experience closely resembling the authentic touch of real instruments.
To achieve this, Haptic Perc uses microphone input to excite physical percussion models. Also, it's equipped with six parameters allowing you to fine-tune the underlying models, shaping the surface, resonance, and size of your instrument.
Two Flavors, Endless Creativity
Haptic Perc comes in two flavors: as an Effect Plugin and as a MIDI Synth Plugin, both included with your purchase:
- Effect Plugin: Use Haptic Perc as an FX plugin on any audio channel. Simply connect a microphone, and voilà. Any microphone will suffice, even the one built into your laptop.
- Virtual Instrument Plugin: Load Haptic Perc onto any MIDI track and control it with a MIDI controller, be it a keyboard or a MIDI multi-pad interface.
