Unit Audio: Curious about Analog Summing? Here are Some Simple Samples to Compare

Unit Audio

Analog Summing Sample Sound Comparisons.

If you are still curious about whether analog summing might be a useful tool for you, we've posted some very simple sample .wav files that compare an in the box file to a file that has run been summed through our basic entry level model analog summing mixer. You will probably hear a slight difference even on your laptop or computer speakers if you just click on the samples below to stream them through your web player. Depending on your bandwidth, you may experience some buffering issues.

If you are willing to invest a small amount of time downloading these files and then listening to both of them on your audio machine through your studio monitors, we are confident that you will be able to identify the additional image separation that can be realized with analog summing. Pay particular attention to the nylon string guitar and to the bass.

In The Box
inthebox.wav has stayed in the box for its whole life.

Summing Milli Sytek
summingmillisytek.wav is the same sample as inthebox.wav summed through our Milli-Unit analog summing mixer (our least expensive model at $149.00) then through a standard Sytek-MPX4Aii pre amp for make up gain. We specifically chose this preamp based on it's industry reputation for lack of color.

Very important reminder: If you simply click on the button, the .wav file will launch in your default web audio player and you may hear a slight difference. For an accurate evaluation, right mouse click on a PC or control click on a Mac and save the file to your hard drive.
