ab Encoder MS

'ab Encoder MS' provides a streamlined and accurate method for converting MS and Double MS recordings into First-Order Ambisonics (1OA).

The plugin allows any Mid-Side (MS) or Double Mid-Side (DMS) input to be encoded directly into Ambisonics without intermediate stereo decoding, preserving spatial detail and maintaining the original width, directionality, and depth of the recording.

Encoding is handled internally, without the need for manual matrixing, polarity adjustments, or complex routing. All the user has to do is set the input configuration and 'ab Encoder MS' will do everything else automatically.

This workflow enables field recordings, film ambiences, and immersive microphone setups to be converted into three-dimensional soundfields suitable for VR, Dolby Atmos, and other spatial audio systems.

Compatible input formats:

2-channel: Mid / Side.

3-channel: Mid (front) / Side / Mid (rear).

4-channel: Mid / Side / Mid (rear) / Side (redundant).
