Furnix

Furnix is a free compressor plugin for macOS. It handles everything from gentle glue to hard, pumping control, with a live transfer curve and clear gain-reduction metering that show exactly what it's doing to your dynamics.

Full dynamics control:

• Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Hold and adjustable soft Knee
• Switchable Peak or RMS detection, plus Lookahead up to 5 ms.
• Makeup Gain with optional Auto Makeup, and continuously variable Stereo Link
• Grid Sync to lock the release to musical note values (1/4, 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, dotted 1/8) or an auto mode.

Shape the tone and the hits:

• Heat saturation in three characters — Coals (warm, tube-like), Flame (bright, odd harmonics) and Blast (asymmetric, even harmonics) — with an option to link the drive to gain reduction.
• A Punch control that re-injects transients so compression doesn't dull your attack.
• Mix for New York-style parallel compression.

Sidechain and monitoring:

• Internal sidechain filtering with an adjustable HPF and a Tilt mode for mid-focused detection.
• External sidechain input and SC Listen to audition exactly what's triggering the compressor.
• A Delta monitor to hear only what the compressor is adding or removing.
• Input, output, gain-reduction and crest-factor metering, plus a live transfer curve.

Also inside:

• 16 factory presets for drums, bass, vocals and mix bus, with preset save/load and A/B compare.
• A soft-clip ceiling and DC blocker to keep the output clean.
• Static latency reporting for lookahead and oversampling, with delay compensation handled by the host.

Formats: AU, VST3, and Standalone — Universal Binary (Apple Silicon + Intel), code-signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs cleanly on macOS. Free to download.
