OVERVIEW
The RO-GOLD was faithfully modeled after an iconic hardware classic, and upgraded with a 24k gold plate, for the most luxurious vintage reverberation experience.
Our plate simulation approach allows us to authentically capture the analog unit's sound and feel as closely as possible while still including a few unexpected twists - all in the beautifully designed, easy-to-use package that is the RO-GOLD.
Engineers have experimented with foil and metal plates to reproduce expensive reverb rooms since the 50s. However, installing and controlling a real metal plate reverb has never been easily attainable, nor has it been readily available to every producer or small studio - especially when it comes to real gold plates.
As it often happens, this type of hardware remained exclusive to a select few elite studios for a long time. Nevertheless, plate reverberation is audible in many 50s and 60s hit songs, where engineers extensively used this technique.
Not only does the RO-GOLD bring you the sound of these sought-after hardware classics, but it also captures the true tone of a solid gold plate, which would cost millions to recreate in real life. This 24k gem allows you to set up your own retro room sound, that is both warm and mellow. With only a few, simple-to-use parameters, it has never been easier to achieve an authentic vintage reverb sound.
Features
THE MOST LUXURIOUS PLATE REVERB
Enjoy the tone of a 24k gold plate reverb for the most luxurious vintage reverb experience you've ever had.
INSPIRED BY THE CLASSICS
This plug-in was inspired by the EMT 140 and other classic plate reverbs for maximum authenticity.
VINTAGE DAMPER CONTROL
Get complete control over the reverb decay time with the physically modeled version of a classic damper control, and choose between 10 damper positions.
CLASSIC PRE-DELAY CONTROL
The classic pre-delay control determines the amount of delay between the dry and wet signals. It was purposefully placed after the plate reverb emulation to enable users to modulate the reverb tail with the DAW automation.
DRY/WET MIXING STAGE
Following the classic approach of send effects that run in parallel with the mix channel, we have introduced a wet/dry control to keep the effects in-chain within the plug-in, without having to set up additional send/return loops.
APPLE SILICON & SSE2 OPTIMIZED CODE
DSP operations are pipelined using the latest Apple Silicon & SSE2 instruction sets. This ensures a high-performance operation despite our plug-ins' very complex computations.
ZERO LATENCY
The RO-GOLD is a zero-latency reverberation plug-in that does not require sample delay compensation, making it ideal for real-time monitoring or live environments.
HIGHDPI/RETINA SUPPORT
The user interfaces support high pixel density on both Windows and Mac OS systems, giving you the most enjoyable user experience on high DPI displays. Please refer to your DAW manual to learn whether it is HighDPI compatible if you're working on Windows.
It just sounds so good, I'm buying all their plugins on friday.
So if you're reading this before april 11th 2023.

Amazing customer service too. The dude said that if I didn't have the money to that date he'd sort me out anyway.
Now that is some awesome behaviour if you ask me.
In principle a really good plate reverb plugin. Seems to sound much smoother, rounder, more diffuse, more naturally and organically than a typical EMT-140 based plate reverb plugin.
I still am not sure, if I really like this smoothness so much as a replacement for or alternative to a typical EMT-140 plate reverb, but the RO-GOLD has it's own, more unique character and sounds very good in my opinion for some decent reverberation, wetter sounds rather remind me of a mix between a very good studio spring reverb plus some very warm real room reverberation, which is no bad result, but in my opinion not exactly the kind of tone, I personally associate with a typical, very intense plate reverb.
In other words, the RO-GOLD sounds in some way more naturally, more organically to me than a EMT-140, which has more this typical metallic plate reverb character, while the RO-GOLD already has more the character of some excellent, very well balanced real room reflections.
I personally would prefer it over most ambient reverbs, because of the beautiful natural character, which (still) sounds very unused and different to most other (plate) reverb plugins.
The few controls are sufficient for proper adjustment, reverb tones like these ones hardly will need more controls. If you like them, you like them, if not, more controls also hardly will change this impression.
As it is freeware you cannot do much wrong and try it.
