Saturator and collapse dynamics. VST3, AU and CLAP.

Do you always feel like you expected more from throwing a clipper/saturator on something. Like it just doesn't feel powerful enough? Me too.

Slursh is a saturator with a transient-triggered collapse stage. It rounds your signal with the clipping algorithm found in the depump control of SlushBus, then ducks the low and high bands independently, in time with the transients you feed it. Weight and harmonic thickness up front, rhythmic movement underneath. The result is the feeling that you're pushing something to it's absolute limit. Like the system cannot take it. It sounds awesome.

Two engines, in series.

Slush — saturation. A soft-clip that rounds the waveform toward a sine as you push it. A threshold, floor, and knee network blends the dry signal back in below a level you set, so quiet detail stays clean while louder material saturates.

Collapse — transient ducking. Slursh tracks the low-frequency energy of the signal. When it crosses a threshold, it ducks the low and high bands independently around a sweepable crossover, each with its own attack and release. The low band can also be driven toward a squared-off fundamental as it collapses.

The dry path stays phase-clean, so the dry/wet blend nulls cleanly and the Null button outputs only what Slursh adds. Useful for hearing the effect on its own.

What you get:

  • saturation with threshold, floor, and knee shaping.
  • transient-triggered low and high band ducking, independent per band.
  • sweepable crossover from 100 to 1000 Hz.
  • independent attack and release on each band.
  • Squarify for a squared-off low fundamental.
  • live attack and release envelope display with position tracking.
  • saturation-amount and collapse metering.
  • phase-clean dry path with a null test.
  • input, dry/wet, and output controls.
  • interface scaling at 100, 150, and 200 percent.

Where it fits:

  • wherever the hell you want it.

Specs

Formats: VST3, AU, CLAP.

Platform: Windows 64-bit and macOS.

Includes: installer, manual-install files, user guide, readme, changelog.

License and demo.

Slursh runs in demo mode, with a brief periodic silence, until you activate it with a license key. One license covers both formats on up to three machines you own. An internet connection is needed for activation only; after that the plugin runs offline.
