Soften is a precision mixing plugin developed by Sonnox, the team behind the acclaimed Oxford plugin suite, in collaboration with Focusrite. Created for musicians, producers, and engineers, it's designed to smooth harsh frequencies and enhance clarity in a mix, with minimal effort.

Soften's one-knob, three-mode design delivers instant results on vocals, guitars, and even your mix bus. Used on vocals, it tames harsh 'ess' sounds, brittle consonants, and aggressive upper mids, without killing the top-end sparkle. When used on guitars, it reduces the shrill overtones, fizzy distortion, and nasal mids often caused by amp sims and modelers, keeping your tone lively but less fatiguing. And on the mix bus, Soften helps tame harsh upper mids and boxy mid-range across the track, resulting in a more refined and balanced mix.
