Sonicbits - Silk Short Review (English).
The Silk sounds good and is available for little money 19 $ EUR.
The user interface (GUI) is exemplary and clearly designed.
All parameters and controls are very easy to use and easy to see. The Silk is also scalable for modern 4K monitors 80%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 125%, 150%, 175%, 200%.
The sharpness and color selection are very well done. A great GUI to my taste.
The manual can even be accessed via the interface in the system button, for beginners it is a well thought out virtual software synthesizer with 3 oscillators (2x saw and 1x noise), spread and blend function plus detune - 99 & + 99, range -24 & +24.
There are 7 filter types to choose from, even a 6 LP filter and formant filter with A E I O U has been thought of. The modulation envelope and the modulation matrix invite you to create new sounds.
With the 2 LFO low frequency oscillators you can create floating sounds and also rhythmic sound images. The 2 LFOs have sine, saw, square, triangle and S&H waveforms. The rate for the LFO is equipped with SYNC and FREE, which can be edited with the RATE function 0.01 Hz to 40.00 Hz and the DEPTH function 1 to 100.
The 3 effects chorus, delay and reverb sound good and give the sound more space and fullness.
There is a pitch wheel and a mod wheel function for your MIDI keyboard.

Please add function to import sysex file of Yamaha TX81Z and DX11! Only one cons of this vsti is lack of presets. If it can import sysex, that will be great advantage. Thanks.

I don't think I've ever used an FM synth that is this fun to use. I love everything about it! Especially the interface. The wave preview is genius, it's not just a scope the modulation doesn't affect it, it shows the waveform you are building with FM. It's more helpful than you might think. I also like how it doesn't try to be some kind of hybrid super synth, yes there is a filter but other than that it's a pure FM synth. It does that so well.
The sound is detailed and clean.
I would totally buy a paid version, this is the experience that one should have using an FM synth. I'd give it ten stars if I could.
Thank you Sonicbits!!!!.
After using Sphere for some months, I disagree with Orsteam's review. It looks like too cursory of a look. I can get with this free plugin, some of the effects that I paid $$ to get in Adaptiverb but for free. This VST has some real potential in the future, and usable high quality results now in our professional workflow.
The sound reminds me of the late 90-th DirectX reverbs (something like Freeverb or Hyperprism).
Looks poorly, keeping in mind Sonicbits Exakt, which sounds really nice, on my opinion.

I liked the sound. And that's maybe the most important thing, because the great majority of FM synths at the market suffer from bad antialiasing which is so critical here. I also like the way the synth follow parameter automation. What needs to be done, as it seems to me, is some additional modulation features: more flexible velocity and CC parameter modulation, key position sensitivity, portamento and polyphony settings etc. - to make the sound more interactive and vivid. Hope it's in your plans :).
One more strange thing is high standby CPU load. It's even higher then with some voices on. Looks like some kind of bug (UPD: fixed in v 1.1! Thanx).

Not bad! I liked the fact that this didn't really need effects, it had lots of options that would give similar results. I'd suggest adding a scroll option to the envelope editor for longer envelopes, maybe using the scroll wheel? Other than that, great plugin. Personally, I found that this works great for a bass or chords, given that it's easy to make soft sounds with this. Sorry if this review makes no sense, I'm pretty new to music making so I'm not very knowledgeable.

Very promising fm-plugin. Could become one of the best and easiest vst.
At least the release-envelope is working correctly, however the plugin does not recognize a sustain-pedal. Piano sounds are therefore almost impossible, which is a no-go on fm-synths.
I hope this will be changed in the future.
