Just because I can't help myself: Audiorealism ADM CM is not a sample based instrument, it's a drum synth (hence why I suggested it when the list was purely synths  ). It can load samples, but the 606 emulation is synthesis, not samples.

I would not put ReproAlpha in the list as it is not a freeware. It was a "Researchware" as told Urs with humour... and the last beta made takes a beta serial which times out end of 2016 as he told here. Therefore in fact the beta version can't be considered neither as freeware nor as magware, but as "temporaryware", and I'm not sure Urs would appreciate the alpha edition be considered as freeware.

I listed it because, it's still available for anyone to download, it sounds great and it was ranked 10 in bpb's 2016 freeware list. I'll remove it if it wasn't supposed to be used for commercial music etc.

Ah Ok.

As long as Urs doesn't see any problem, so there is no problem.

Here is a new list to mix with yours. Some are probably already in your list.

All these instruments are freewares AND are 64-bit compiled.

But for a part of them I have no idea about their quality. And perhaps that a small number of them are discontinued. Anyway, you have here a new list to spend some hours to fill yours.

Be aware of some informations. For example you have not put Tunefish 3 in your list because probably you thought that it is an old version of Tunefish 4... but not at all : Tunefish 3 and Tunefish 4 rely on different synthesis, they are not the same instrument.

I have seen also that you forgot MDrummer Small that I suggested in a previous post. MDrummer Small is really an excellent drum machine, a wonderful instrument having plethora of possibilities even if it is just the free version of MDrummer.

Cheers!

About Combo F (Farfisa emulation) and Combo V (Vox Continental emulation) which are two discontinued organs from Martinic but which were among the best electric organs ever in VST, I have them in my downloadable collection of freewares. So if some would like to load them...

String synth ? Or bowed string emulation ?

Bowed strings are extremely difficult to reproduce by synthesis. Even Eric (Thibault) from AAS told me that String-Studio can't claim to rise this challenge, it is quite a feat.

So it is probable that except samplebased there is no instrument (and free!) which can claim to make it.

I'm gonna search...
