I dont think this guy ever stops doing,
have you seen the number of patents he has?!

I still use most of his old plugins. Ferox can really sound good with a bit of time spent experimenting, PC2's a great transparent compressor and i love omniverb - doesn't sound so impressive solo (kinda mono'ish and grainy) but sometimes it works brilliantly in a mix. I think i'm in the minority in that i prefer some of his old plugins over his newer equivalents. Red Phatt Pro and Smash Pro are fantastic too.

Red Phatt pro is a frigging classic.
Theyll be making emulations of it in 10 years time

Not only that - he is also open for new ideas/concepts. Else he wouldn't have "adapted" the K-System v2 concept.

He has more patients than he can take on.

Dr. Breebaart.
Patient Spurt would like to see you now.

Red Phatt Pro is a drum killer. I remember all those praising it after buying it for the paltry 10 or 15 Euros - whatever it was - they were over the moon. Got to say, this is easy to dial in - instant results.

I have his normal compressor in the free pack, but am wondering how his new 'bus' compressor measures up. It has even less controls. I'm shallow like that. Plus, it's not red.

Anyone?

IMO Red Phatt Pro is much more capable than the new bus compressor, and it can be used as expander, too, if I'm remembering it right. I would even jump from the mountains for a new Red Phatt Pro version... :o

I'm always wondering why he abandoned the (Red Phatt Pro) project, and I'm afraid of using Red Phatt Pro (although it works on my system) because I think there might be some bugs or something, otherwise he wouldn't have abandoned it, and I'm always afraid that my DAW could crash...

The only plugin (pre toneboosters) i ever had a problem with was the signal analyzer - which would make reaper crash - and i use his old plugins all the time. Had more problems with demo versions of the newer ones - sluggish gui and cpu spikes with some of them. The older ones seem more reliable to me.

what do you guys think of the tb reverb. it simple, but it seems to make synths sounds more expensive then they are. and when you add a module delay they really pop. i just bought the track plugins bundle last week and was wondering what people think of the track plugs as a whole.

The TB Reverb is one of the sweetest and most natural sounding reverb plug-ins I have ever come across. It is now my 'go to' reverb.
i was wondering the same, it really seems to make any synth sound really pricy, i guess its not just me that noticed this. even valhalla room isnt as buttery as tb verb. its more complex yes but it doesn't make plugins sound as expensive the way tb does. tb reverb to my ears creates a sort of a wrapper like sound layer around the sound that i never seen in other reverbs. hmm. i have no idea what its really doing to the sound.

All of the ToneBoosters plugins are really good !

Every single one of them...

They are fantastic tools without a lot of the hype that surrounds other plugins...

I love it when developers code a plugin and then make the GUI look like a certain pig...

If it looks like a pig,it must be a pig

The new Bus Compressor is ridiculously awesome! I highly recommend it (I didn't last more than 15 minutes with the demo until I made a purchase). What's unique about it is the newly added Transient control. What this does is it can squash the initial transient by the set amount (it's in %) even if you are using huge attack values like 500ms. It's a very good compressor to tighten things up. You can even squash bass frequencies really effectively without getting severe pumping.

It's currently one of my favorite compressors but I'm still learning it's use. It's a very complex beast even if it has only a few parameters.. due to it's program dependent nature.

The only critique I have is that it seems to be hard-linked stereo compression which means I can't get dual-mono operation from it without running two instances in Reaper and linking each instance to it's own channel. In dual-mono mode it sounds absolutely wicked on stereo material!

Cheers!

But the new GUI's of v3 are really slick looking in my opinion! Very easy on the eyes and comfortable to use!
