The Phaser/Chorus in Synapse/Beat Zampler is perfect for that Jarre Oxygene string sound.

If only they could relase that FX module as a VST plug by itself

Very interesting interview.

I got an email yesterday that my copy of Oxygene 3 will be here this week and am obviously very eager to hear it.

Oxygene 1, especially part II was THE album and track that got me started on my journey into electronic music nearly 35 years ago.
I'd never heard anything like it before and it completely stopped me in my tracks!!

Totally agree!

Part two, which to me is just Oxygene 2 (never liked the part part  ), is a track that does not come from Earth. That track will never sound dated, it will always sound ahead of the time in which you live.

It, along with Equinoxe 4, is actually my favourite music.

Interestingly, it was the first track that he composed and recorded on the first album, the others came afterward. When you record a track like that, no wonder the rest of the album goes on to become a worldwide and timeless classic, because the rest of it had to try to live up to the first thing recorded.

It's very interesting to me that at that time Star Wars was also being made (1976), and basically both ended up being so incredibly resonant with the world and impactful upon it.

Any JMJ (non video) interviews regarding Oxygene 3 ?

By the way - I admire JMJ not only because of his music but also for views. After all JMJ is not only a talented musician but also a very intellectual gentleman.

When it comes to music philosophy I cna clearl ysee that and Karl Bartos have very much in common. Both refering to Pierre Shaeffer and Stockhausen. Both pointing out that "music is not only about notes but also abotu sound".

Both of them also frequently refres to music concrete.

They even share the same views on our time as being retro-futurism.

I wonder if they ever met. They should. And then I would love to listen to their conversation.

It's easy to understand why Ralf Hutter was not inited to participate in Electronica. He would most likely say no thanks. If he would even answer.

However I do believe Karl Bartos would have been interested.

Well, we shall see what the future has to offer.

Meanwhile - if somebody got a link to an (non video) interview regarding Oxygen 3 ? :-)

Yes, it was released today. I bought it on iTunes this morning and had a listen through on my journey to work this morning. Where Oxygene 7-13 (or Oxygene 2 if you prefer) appeared to stick to using the original instruments available when he recorded the original Oxygene album, the new album doesn't keep to those constraints. Towards the end of the opening track the classic laser harp sound appears to be used, which I believe was an Elka Synthex.

Oxygene 7-13 was my favourite of his post 80's albums and this will most-likely be my favourite since that. I have a ticket to attend a signing of Oxygene 3 this evening at HMV Oxford Street, which I'm looking forward to.

Unbelievable! Exactly the same happened to me! Oxygene 2 was THE track that started it all for me to get into electronic music. Before it, it was just drums and piano.

This happened in November 1982! :hyper:
