There are a number of sounds in Oxygene. However, most likely you are looking for a decent emulator of Eminent 310 string machine combined with a Smallstone phaser. I could recommend this (you need to own full version Reaktor for that). An mp3 demo is available here, so that you can check, whether it's this sound you're looking for.bedjka wrote:Hi

OP-X PRO-II has a handful of Jarre sounds in its library, including some of the brasses, leads, arpeggios, laser harp, and the of course the singing saw, plus a lot of typical soundeffects.
That's what Georges Poropat did with OP-X PRO and Stringer for strings:

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Since one of Jarre's favourite synths was the Elka Synthex you also might check XILS-lab Synthix which is a dedicate clone of the Synthex.

There's also this but it's maybe more Equinox territory...

ArtsAcoustic made an excellent circuit modeled plugin of the Smallstone, called BigRock. To my ears, the best phaser out there.
As for the synths themselves, sure you could try to seek emulations of the devices he uses(d), but honestly, in most cases, its more a question of having a few decent VA's, and recreating similar patches.

Thats interesting, i'm guessing then that the 'Stoned' phaser on U-He's Diva is based on that.nexusdawn wrote:Z1202 wrote:combined with a Smallstone phaser.

Synthmaster and the Nori Ubukata Historic Synth Giants Volume 4 should do the trick.

And let's not forget Jarre's first synth - the VCS3. On the Oxygene Live tour a few years back, he was using at least 6 VCS3/Synthis. (90% of the rest of his kit, you'll find in the Elektrostudio pack mentioned above ... ah! if only it included a Synthi! can you imagine what an ES Synthi would sound like ... ?) His mentor, Pierre Schaeffer - pioneer of Musique Concrete - accompanied Jarre to EMS in London to buy one in 1968.
There are plenty of plugs to choose from - from freeware up to the 'official' Avs at 350 Euros (SIAC is even more expensive, if you factor in the cost of Reaktor).
While maybe not the best sounding, TomG/EFM's Synthia2 will make you feel the way Jarre and Schaeffer must have done back in the 60s - an essential experience for anyone with a passion for vintage synths!

Do I need to list the patches?Syntilla wrote:Which ones are they?Numanoid wrote:Got lots of Jarre sounding patches.
There is bascially a lot of fx patches included, which can be tweaked, so as Xils 3 is an emulation or inspired by EMS Synthi, should be worthy to check out for those seeking Oxygene sounds.
