Does that mean it can go louder? I bought AOM Invisible to achieve a similar transparent sound but with the ability to go louder before distortion.
AOM Invisible (at least V1) has a different character then barricade v3/v4. not sure it goes louder, it is just cleaner when pushed harder, though it does not "feel" "louder" (to me), mind you, distortion sounds loud! this is probably partly why clippers are a good choice to go loud. AOM Invisible has a very clipper like characteristic also. It breaks up in a similar fashion too! I actually think the old barricade could be pushed harder then AOM without "distortion", though it was not as "transparent" e.g. you could hear the "compression". Anyways.
While I too think that AOM Invisible and Barricade V3 have "some" similaritys in regards to sound (very woody :D), though AOM Invisible is really sounding different to most limiters due to it's clipper like behaviour.

Cheers!

I agree that AOM has an amazing ability to remain very transparent - it has a clipper mode - but there's little difference to my ears between it's straight limiter mode and the clipper mode. I actually use a soft clipper as my final plugin more often than a limiter these days - especially where super loud masters are required. AOM is the only limiter I've found that can compete with that. Before I had it I was using Barricade V3 - which is why I was curious.

I am kind of happy no update is planned for the track essentials bundle. It is good the way it is. Funny how stuff is always promoted as great - until an upgrade comes out and one gets the impression that the old version was not that great after all, compared to the new one :hihi:

Barricade 3 is my only TB bus plugin. But I doubt an update makes much sense for amateurs like me. I was planning on buying three more of the individual bus ones, but in view of the new upgrade procedures and prices, I guess I will not do so after all (assuming they will all be updated to the new ways sooner or later). I don't even like the new, modern GUI look. Making the distinct old TB GUI style resizeable would have been enough.

What's the new plugin bundle available since January 29th? Does it contain new versions of v3 stuff?

Where did you read that?

I downloaded it the other day - all the v3 plugins are the 04/2016 versions, it's just got morphit and barricade v4 added

In this thread, from a poster called svama.

I'm using most of the time Meldaproduction plugins, free for lifetime is great and there are some new guis planned.

That´s odd. I could swear I read on Tonebooster´s facebook some time ago that their whole line of plugins will get overhauled.

Me too! Barricade 4 is worth the update. It has a pretty cool and simple compressor included. I already integrated into my mastering chain...

I'd like to see the ability to change comp/lim threshold parameters using scroll wheel, & fine adjust parameters using scroll wheel. You could do this in previous versions.

I've upgraded to v4. It is nice!!
But i still need v3, there is v3 mode in v4 though.

I shot them a mail yesterday, asking if the Track Esentials plugins also get a v4 upgrade. Jeroen said that he doesn't know where the rumours originate from that the whole plugin line gets v4 upgrades now, and that there are currently no plans to upgrade the Track Essentials plugins to v4. So, that's that. On the other hand, he pointed out that the upgrade options are very cheap, so, even if i buy the Track Essentials plugins now, and there will be a v4 version, upgrading would be as cheap as 5 €. Fair enough. :)

It'd be very handy for me to have a dry wet knob on TBReelBus.
tbh I don't know if this makes sense.
Can playing with the saturator knob lead to a similar result?

edit: It would be nice to have 'preamps/saturators' by TB too!
And a micro shift plugin. :phones:

I'd like to know about this too. Can't see anything about it in the manual"

It seems i don't qualify for the Barricade upgrade since i got my v3 second-hand. While i'm happy enough with it that i'd otherwise never consider replacing it, v4 could change my mind even if bought outright.

However, aside from the incredibly useful monitor switch, it appears the inbuilt dithering feature is absent too. I tend to use v3's dither rather than Ableton's, for one thing it helps ensure i don't end up with a clipped master. Also, there are many times when i prefer to record the output direct to another channel rather than render. The noise shaping seems to be useful for preserving transients too (although i realise this may be completely imagined).

Are these both really absent?
