I never noticed before until this morning, but I just loaded up Analog Lab 4 and it has Pigments presets in it. Is that only because I have that synth installed? Normally it wouldn't be there AFAIK, as it isn't a "classic" synth like the others, and isn't listed on the Analog 4 web page where it says:
Presets are carefully selected from our V Collection (ARP 2600 V, B-3 V, CS-80 V, CZ V, Farfisa V, Jup-8 V, Matrix-12 V, Mellotron V, Mini V, Modular V, Prophet V, Prophet VS, SEM V, Solina V, Stage-73 V, Synclavier V, Synthi V, Piano V, Vox Continental V, Wurli V, Buchla Easel V, Clavinet V, DX7 V and CMI V)
It also says "Full preset editing available for owners of the full versions of our synthesizers (Mini V, Modular V, CS-80V, Wurlitzer V, etc.)" but it still isn't one of those other classics they mention.

Basically it just acting as a host for Pigments presets, similar to how NKS works. Also, there are lots of preset banks for various synths and AL4 is made to open all those, irrespective of the synth used for creating them. So, it is not surprising to see Pigments presets in AL4.Examigan wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2020 10:56 am I never noticed before until this morning, but I just loaded up Analog Lab 4 and it has Pigments presets in it. AL4 is quite powerful and the only software we need to load for anything Arturia (instruments, of course).

Thanks for the info.
I just deactivated Pigments and then uninstalled it to see what would happen. I also cleaned up the registry.
When I loaded up AL4 it still had the Pigments presets, but I just can't edit them. So I guess Arturia includes those now? If they do,then they should list it on the website along with the other classic synths they mention (and I listed earlier)

You're welcome.
AFAIK, Pigments presets can be edited from AL4. I will try to check later tonight.

I meant you can't fully edit them after uninstalling Pigments, which would be normal as you have to have whichever plugin installed to do that type of thing. Here it is after I uninstalled it. Arturia should edit the AL4 page to also list Pigments in there too, as most people probably don't know those presets are there.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:28 am You're welcome.

Yes, obviously you won't be able to edit them if it is uninstalled.
But I agree, it is worth mentioning Pigments in the list. Will do only good for them. Hopefully someone from their team will see this conversation.

If I buy the V7 collection on sale, via the upgrade path for $199, can I resell it? ... or does it have to be resold with the hardware? --- in my case, the Minilab mk2... if this is how it works, would I be better off buying the "separate" version for $249.. if I want the resell option in the future? Thanks.

I'm a big fan of Analog Lab lite, which I got for free with a Presonus hardware. I can't think I'll ever need any more analog emulations. Yes, I noticed the Pigments presets too. Sorry to stray from the thread, but what would a totally digital synth vst be these days? Any free or cheap ones around?

Wait for it to go on sale (it was recently available for $30 during leap-year sale) and in the meantime demo it.

DX7 V and CZ V (and the others in the V Collection) go one sale usually once a year for $99 each.

You realize that ALL VST instruments are totally digital right?Bojo34 wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2020 4:48 pm Sorry to stray from the thread, but what would a totally digital synth vst be these days? Any free or cheap ones around?
I presume you want to exclude the VA synths (emulations or not). I second the Surge suggestion, but also DeXed (an emulation of DX7) even if not as good as DX7 V, is free.
Waldorf was offering the Waldorf Suite LE a little while ago, which includes the PPG 2.V LE (not completely digital, but a hybrid).
Sektor, from Initial Audio, may be purchased by 20 euros, or so (look for it at Plaugin Boutique).
OSS (Ocean Switft Synthesis) synths are on sale this month, and they are also interesting. As is Union, from Soundspot (already mentioned)
Image Lyne Sytrus, Toxic Biohazard, Harmor, all are great synths, which you can get quite cheap every now and then.
Two gems you can get almost for free: Big Tick Rhino and Audjoo Helix.
If you can, pay attention to Padshop 2 also. It's a fantastic granular synth.
I guess you have already a lot of suggestions.
Fernando (FMR)
