In this context, by non musical i assume you mean not writing music.

Currently i have to make do with cubase can't afford others.. 😔
That's interesting. I would go with Ableton Live (which i have) for making beets, Pro Tools (which i don't have any more and don't want) for mixing, and Reaper (which i have) for "mastering."
I no longer have a good enough room to master, which imo is way more important than which DAW.
I had "mastered" everything i did in whichever of the two DAWs i used to make the tracks. Anything that i tracked or recorded elsewhere got edited in CoolEditPro and mastered with Reaper.

- these are silly expensive

If you need those features, I feel for you....
I absolutely don't need those features since I haven't had the mental capacity to sit down and finish tunes for like 5 years.

BUT

I think it would be cool to see if Nuendo has stereo-processing tools other daws don't have, since it's designed with post-production in mind. That's such an achilles' heel for most DAWs out of the box.

I remember Bob Katz said in his books that Sequoia has the best waveform editing, but I highly doubt the gap is that wide anymore.

Updating this to include Pro Tools as my secondary DAW. I recently upgraded my license because I still use and prefer it for certain circumstances, but Logic is and will be my main DAW for the foreseeable future.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd invest in a full home studio with hardware gear and as little computer stuff as possible.
I'd probably be using an MPC and a lot of rackmount gear. Back in the 1990s I actually did have a tiny hardware studio and I really miss it. Even if I still had a computer and software, I'd treat it like a hardware synth trigger it with a hardware sequencer and route the output into a console and patchbay with rack effects. Enough of this computer caca :D

No one here has ever proven me incorrect. Ever. If it appears that way it's due to selective reading. People read what they want to read and decipher it to make themselves feel important and that puts blinders on.
Add to this that when i make a statement, it's truth and you know what they say about truth? The truth hurts. Peoplw will avoid truth like KVRists avoid hit records.

Weird question.. It's not like every DAW is terribly far off in their pricing (except maybe Logic Pro). Not sure why having more money would make me choose something else, I buy what I need from the get go so I don't have to Mickey Mouse my way over time.

If you're looking at Ableton Live because it has what you need, why would you not just buy it to start with? Are you going to drop money on Logic first, and then keep saying 'Man I wish I could..' while thinking about the $200 you could've put towards your Suite license? Save your money for a little bit longer and just get what you need.

That's a dumb approach to be honest. A more logical way is to just hang on to your money until you have enough saved to get the DAW required.
