Congrats to those of you who knew: this nifty tool is the KAOSS pad.
First introduced by Korg in the late 1990s, this is an effects producer that was pretty innovative for its time. A producer could, just by dragging their finger across the pad, manipulate multiple effects in real time – which was an awesome way to create dynamic and expressive soundscapes not accessible with tools of the time.

Disarray brings back the simple fun of using a KAOSS pad, while providing producers with modern tools to elevate their effects mixing.
Users can load up to four effects (including third-party plugins), add eight different parameters on the pad, and adjust properties like the position of the effects on the pad and the range of possible values. When the mouse is dragged, the effects are applied based on their properties and proximity to the mouse.
And for those who still want the tactile feedback of a physical controller, Disarray is also compatible with MIDI controllers. You can even hook up an iPad, an increasingly common tool among producers.
