Stagecraft Software is announcing significant changes to automation across its product line-up, opening new opportunities for producers to create dynamically pleasing sound. This will impact most of their synths, effects, and producer tools.
Stagecraft Software has included simple automation as a core feature of its plugins for years, where any number of parameters could be oscillated simultaneously at different rates. Whether a producer was creating filter swells in AutoFilter, or changing EchoThief's reverbs over the course of a measure, it was an effective tool to evolve a track over time.
However, a variety of new controls are being introduced to provide more flexibility for producers.
In addition to the existing LFO for parameter oscillation, they've added:
- An ADSR which triggers mods based on a volume threshold.
- A sequencer for drawing out how mods change over time.
- A "master knob, " which can be linked with several parameters at once for instant dynamic control.
A new automation layout with a fresh coat of paint and support for multiple windows – useful for fine-tuning different automations.
These can be used individually or combined as desired.
Perhaps the biggest beneficiary of this automation upgrade is Stagecraft's free AutoFilter plugin. With these changes, AutoFilter has become an even more flexible and reactive filter plugin, which anyone can grab right now by just visiting their website.
For those who already own a Stagecraft Software plugin, the new automation suite will come as a free update which you can download by visiting their website. Currently, the synths have not yet been updated with the new automation, but you will see that in the coming weeks.
