Attila M. Magyar has announced the release of version 3.4.0 of JS80P, a MIDI driven, performance oriented, free and open source synthesizer VST plugin for Linux and Windows.
The 3.4.0 version is fully backward-compatible with previous versions, so all existing patches and projects can be loaded.
Changes:
- Oscillators can now be mixed with noise.
- The Echo and Reverb effects can now be gated by switching their side-chain compressor into expansion mode.
- Added a basic Tape simulation effect for slowdown stops, lo-fi wow and flutter, saturation and tone coloring, etc.
- New presets:
- FX Master Enhancer, a preset for using JS80P as a master bus effect rather than a synthesizer.
- Creepy Wind for making eerie wind sound Foley effects.
- Stalacpipe Organ, the sound of the largest musical instrument in the world.
- Bugfix: fixed the positioning of the distortion type selectors on the user interface.
JS80P comes with two oscillators (and a sub-harmonic sine), multiple filters, effects, envelopes, LFOs, and macros to shape the sound with subtractive, additive, FM, PM, and AM synthesis, complete with polyphonic, monophonic, and split keyboard modes.
