GSi has released Solo Trumpet, a trumpet instrument based on physical modeling techniques.
Solo Trumpet can be considered the successor to one of GSi's early plugins: Miles'tone. As opposed to its predecessor, Solo Trumpet has been conceived to be played without necessarily using a breath controller, as it can modulate its articulations based on just the MIDI velocity information, the distance between notes and, most importantly, the recognition of staccato and legato. Features such as auto-vibrato and auto-bending make it sound natural without even using the mod-wheel or the pitch-bender.
This instrument does not use any samples. Other than the traditional trumpet, this instrument also features Trombone and Tuba variations.
Solo Trumpet is available for Windows and macOS in VST, VST3, Audio Unit and StandAlone, and for iPad as App and AUv3 plugin.
