iZotope reissues Trash Distortion Plugin with new features, free option, iPad support

-
iZotope

iZotope, part of Native Instruments, has brought back its much-loved Trash distortion plugin in a new form. Blending features of the original with a sleek new interface, Trash promises to offer creative potential for sound mangling, transformation, and everything in-between.

Key Features:

  • Trash Module: Explore over 60 distortion algorithms, ranging from subtle warmth to extreme sonic destruction. Blend seamlessly between four algorithms using the intuitive XY pad for a vast range of custom textures.
  • Convolve Module: Warp audio with over 600 creative impulse responses, including everything from classic hardware to bizarre sonic environments. The custom IR loader lets you experiment with your own audio recordings for unique filtering and modulation effects.
  • Multiband Processing: Target specific frequency ranges with independent Trash and Convolve settings, enabling precision and surgical audio manipulation.
  • Envelope Follower: Inject dynamic movement into distortions with a flexible envelope follower controlling both the Trash module and the new 'Scream' filter. Assign an LFO for wild modulation effects.
  • Randomize: The 'randomize' function instantly creates unexpected sonic combinations.
  • iPad Support: Harness the hands-on workflow of Trash as an AUv3 plugin within Logic Pro for iPad.
  • Trash Lite Mode: This free version lets everyone experience the core Trash module, providing a taste of its destructive power.

Pricing and Availability:

Trash is available now on the iZotope website and through select retailers. A separate iPad version is available on the Apple App Store:

  • Trash (Desktop): $99 / €109 / £95 (intro price: $79 through April 16, 2024).
  • Trash for iPad: $19.99 / €22.99 / £19.99.
