Native Instruments releases "Carbon Decay" Expansion

Native Instruments has released Carbon Decay, a new Expansion bursting with the turbulent sound of industrial techno.

Here's what they say:

Carbon Decay captures a primitive strain of techno that's shaken the walls of warehouses across the UK and beyond. Its inspiration can be found in the clang of 70s post-punk and industrial, as well as in the tougher elements of rave and hardcore culture. Fusing broken rhythms with meticulous sound design, its an aesthetic pioneered by artists such as Blawan, Surgeon, Karenn, and the British Murder Boys, and encapsulated in Carbon Decay.

Created by the Berlin-based sound design and production studio Irrupt, Carbon Decay bursts with pummelling kicks, shattered hi hats, and barbed rhythmic sounds – packed into kits for Battery and Maschine. New synth presets for Massive and Monark provide analog-style basses, alien stabs, and shifting, organic textures for creating primal techno grooves. Loops created using some of the most revered analog synths and drum machines were pressed to vinyl as locked grooves and carefully sampled for an authentic sound.

Carbon Decay joins a range of over 50 Expansions. Launched in February, and based on the Maschine Expansions series, these genre-focused sound packs contain everything a musician needs to create a full track in a specific style.

Pricing and availability

Carbon Decay is available now exclusively at the NI Online Shop for $49 / 49 € / £44 / ¥ 6,280 / AU$ 79.

A compact version of Carbon Decay is also available as an iMaschine 2 Expansion, for sketches on the go. The iMaschine 2 expansion is available at the iMaschine 2 in-app store for $0.99 / 0,99 € / £0.79 / ¥ 120 / AU$ 1.29.

The samples, loops, and one-shots from Carbon Decay are also available on Sounds.com. Currently open to US customers while in beta, Sounds.com offers samples and loops from every Expansion, plus access to content from hundreds of other suppliers, for a monthly subscription.
