StripBus is a full mixing console with bus compressor emulation bundle. It contains two plug-ins: Strip and Bus.
Main features are:
Strip:
Bus:
This plugin...... DANG. I mean DANG. I spend a pretty inordinate amount of time producing music. I figure within the next few years I'll be making enough money from music licensing that I should be able to quit my regular full-time job. In lieu of this pursuit... I spend boat-loads of time mixing/recording/tracking and (most of all) using plugins. I've written I think somewhere around 800 full songs (mostly instrumentals, but still) in my life-span and don't plan to stop. So when I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on what a really really good plugin sounds like, I'l like to think there is something reliable behind that.
This is a really really good plugin. I don't really ever write plugin reviews. This deserved a review.
First off - just putting this on even just a single channel was magic. I don't think i've heard a sound change so much and yet still be the very same sound. How can something so subtle be so ... game-changing? I don't really know. But this plugin does it. As soon as I heard the subtle reinforcement of the background level reverb, added warmth and carefully smoothed release tail of the source sound, I knew this was going to need to be on everything I mixed. The best way I can describe what happens with this plugin to your source sound is that it makes it "creamy". It's a little uncanny - but it works so beautifully.
The BUS portion of this plugin set is just as good. I've found that mixing it in about 50% wet on the master buss with slightly lowered ratio, auto release and a slightly higher attack than default is just money. MONEY. A little parallel compression from ModernDynakiller right before it and you are in business. Literally. I can't tell you how good this is. You should just get it. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. TOO LONG. lol.
I still mix a little Ferric TDS in on the master channel (very subtle settings and about a 30% wet amount) but I don't think I'll be relying on it as much. I can't tell you how much I love what this plugin does. I don't feel like I have to push levels as hard to get "that sound". It's just right there so very quickly. Brilliant. I will purchasing more plugins from SKnote without a doubt. :)
Read Reviewi have owned thins product for about 3 weeks maybe more now so far everything i use this on just sounds better the best setting for me i have found on the strip channel is on tube if the meter is hitting 20 or 15 anywhere around there gives you nice color without adding alot of saturation the tube setting is a nice rounded mellow analog tone while the transistor setting is more of out louder open cleaner tone. both sound great a great thing about the strip part of the bundle is that the eq is dynamic and more for tone shaping making it excellent as a final plugin on your chain before maybe roundtone or your bus send. a really nice feature on this bundle is the soft ducking on the strip you can choose from channels 1 through 20 and the ducking works from 1-20 the ducking is not supposed to be for pumping more for a light blending it really helps things sit in the mix i have used it on many projects and i really fine it useful for making things fit in just right. one thing i notice is that the gain nob the first one is meant for getting your saturation settings the second one is more for setting the final levels.
the BUS part of the bundle comes with a ridiculously good compressor with a smooth saturation nob when i say smooth i mean its not really what i would use if i wanted a super dirty tone i noticed that the tube setting on the compressor has the roundest tone to me and again transistor is a cleaner louder tone the compressor is extremely good and has a nice mid side or whole signal settings with parameter modifications. the mix nob is perfect to get a nice parallel compression.
the problems i have found are that the second tube setting on the compressor dose not work this is a bug that is going to be fixed in a update soon to come out. one thing i noticed about the saturation is that to much seems to take away from the bass but on more mid and high end dominant sources it really sounds smooth and nice to my ears the bass just needs a light amount to sound nice this might be what was intended unfortunately the online manual is not exactly easy to understand at least its not as detailed as i would like but still good if you have any questions just email the creator i always get outstanding a personal information. i would also suggest checking the website for exact info
Read ReviewI just add this weapon to my arsenal and once again Sknote's plugins are amazing. This strip comp sounds very "solid" and precise. It can add a smooth attack or some serious punch to your sound plus the saturation knob which add some thickness. The EQ part is also really interesting and easy to tame even if it has a lot of parameters : "Tube" emulations, "Solid" emu, and many filter types. Actually this strip (like other Sknote's stuff) has that voodoo which seems to be able to make everything sounds right really fast. If you're still sceptical, you can ask for a demo by mailing directly Sknote, the guy behind the brand is really responsive and seriously takes feedback into account. Ok enough talks...just grab these beauties !
ha amazing plugin i agree. I have used them in almost all my mixes since i got it. the only time i don't now is when i use Grasso on every instance. but I always use roundtone i love that one to.
I'm thinking about buying Grasso and GTS-39 and Cuttertone...well the problem with Sknote is that you buy one and then you want all...XD
Ha yea that's what happened to me.
I can say this Grasso is more than just a tube emulation its awesome.with controlling the attack and decay of transients and stuff its great on drums i love it
cuttertone is cool i do like the control it has on the high end and how you can bring the low end more into the middle.
and GTS is a really really good one to i love that one on my acoustic guitar's. basically sounds good on anything
Hi. I just bought this from the Sknote website. It took my money through PayPal but I don't have a download. Can anyone help me out here or did I just get taken to the well? Thanks.
Have you tried e-mailing direct? I think everyone who owns StripBus has received a direct download from Quinto the developer. He's generally very friendly & forthcoming.
