MoZi wrote:Or maybe "unhealthy dose of feedback".... I'm a bit shocked by the loss of soundquality on soundcloud with this track.
It is indeed very raw and has a lot of feedback and distortion and is pushed quite loud... but it sounds much better in full quality on winamp, i promise!!!
Distortions take on an annoying sound on soundcloud... and the white noise-hihat-type sound for example sounds just awful... I'm not a pro, but I'm not completely deaf neither... I'm a bit shocked how you probably here it on soundcloud now :dog:
Sorry for :x , but i was really liking the sound, and on soundcloud it's ruined...
Mp3 compression ?

well, yes... it sounds quite good to me in cubase, it still sounds good in highest quality mp3 in winamp... but on soundcloud i got a little shocked... usually i really like the quality on soundcloud... but i think i have pushed it too far with the distortion... i guess it's not as bad as it seemed to me in the first moment... if you download it you can hear the difference

Yes it's ironic that one of the biggest places for music has such poor sound quality, but part of it stems from SoundCloud's insistence to recode everything even if already in the correct format, so best results seems to be if you upload in uncompressed to get only one compression cycle. Also leave some headroom (levels not maxed out) as that will give better results after compression.

Man this was close. In less than three hours I´m leaving for vacation. I´m going to austria and I have no Internet connection there... so, whew... for me, today was the deadline! ;)
Bad timing indeed as from what you say there will be no time to replace Zebrify and ZRev which are commercial plugins and therefore not allowed.
adagiocm wrote:Um, sorry shortmanb, but I don't think Wuzik Station is an acceptable synth for this competition. It is sample based.
Yes but still time to change it out for a synth.

I have now uploaded it as wave and didn't push it too loud and kept it at -1dB... it's so much better now! :hyper:
The last version really sounded like crap... I can feel it now... if you feel it now is a matter of taste and dosage, but at least now you have the chance to :borg:

Hello! Nice to be back.

https://soundcloud.com/loftelectronics/ ... x-robot-7b

All made with DIVA, using Studio One, stock EQs and Bootsy's new SlickHDR on everything. I made the track at first on Studio One running under Wine on Linux, which was absolutely not fun once I got more than about 10 instances of DIVA... ended up scrapping the whole setup and reinstalling Windows. Ah well, the thought was there.
