Exactly, that's why I am not even tempted also with regard to the fact that in the last 6 weeks so many reverbs were released and I also didn't care, two days ago also antares (sorry have to yawn boredly) and the other fact that kvr was faced with 100 reverb threads recently. So my thread was actually just about "One more reverb!" initially and I would have prefered to name rather the new Antares than SSL in my 1st post, but that's why I was triggered: I saw the Antares reverb thread here and thought omg another reverb, then by coincidence maybe 15 minutes later I saw somewhere else (not kvr) that once again another reverb (SSL), that was simply too much, two new reverbs on one day . You seem to like it, great! It's always like this, some are tempted, some don't even care, some dislike it.
I have and use three SSL native plugins, so I am not a SSL hater at all, even though I generally like Api better than Neve and SSL, SSL native offers more than just console emus, comps and eq, though to be fair.

The fact that there's only one YT video by SSL with not many views and one comment only (maybe you?!) shows clearly how big the demand for another reverb plugin is and I couldn't yet even find a usual video by some YouTuber, even they don't seem to care, well, it speaks for itself.
The most stupid thing any dev could do is to release a reverb imo.

I can see Audiority doing one, but not Softube. In fact, now that Audiority has a compander model that Luca is happy with, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some classic BBD modulation pedals come flying out the door (CE-2, BF-2). I really think a Boss Waza version (hardware) will come out soon. The BF-2 and TR-2 seem like obvious Waza candidates that they haven't done yet.

I've long been wishing for a ValhallaVintageModulator that covers classic chorus, flange, phaser stompboxes. There's a good Phase 90 emulation in ValhallaDelay already and UberMod has been critiqued by it's creator for being too complex so who knows what the future holds there?

I'm happy for you to have your BF-2, but it's the only Boss pedal I own (of many) that I actually sold. To a mate. For £20. And I still don't regret it. Maybe a software one will be better, as it always seemed mega-noisy to me.

Better or not, Prince released a lot of hits in the 80s with BF-2 on drums, guitar and whatever. His sound is legendary.

I bought it (well my parents probably did) around 1982-84 I guess as that's when I was getting into guitar. I don't think there was anything but MIJ back then.

Love Prince, but never loved my BF-2 for some reason. Mind you, I think I only had a single coil guitar back then, so that might have factored into the noise.
