Hello, for a while now I've been trying to find a good rhythm guitar VST, I figured you guys would know. I've tried RealGuitar Gibson, Orange Tree Strawberry, Some random freeware, also virtual guitarist iron which is a ryhtme guitar VST with real played rythm patterns, but I found ALL of them not to fit the music I want and they just felt kinda... dull or something.
I'm looking at AmpleSound and Electricity right now.
I have GuitarRig5, and S-Gear from slate bundle.
I've been trying to get rhythm guitars like these
Here's a basic rythme from a real guitar player I find hard to get realistic with VST
https://soundcloud.com/kake-guri/guitartrak
then here's a few sample videos of guitar rhythms I'd like to do with a VST
https://youtu.be/Wc0zfGLdE8I?t=16
https://youtu.be/iu7KTJl7bEA?t=53
IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE WITH VST? Or should I just give up and learn guitar? I've been wanting to feature palm muting chuggin guitars in my music for a while with pitch bends and squeels but just never found a VST guitar that seems to do it for.
Does anybody have examples of a guitar VST sounding like these?
everytimeI try with Orange Tree guitars or Realguitar it sounds so thin, and robotic, and fake, with like no dynamics or anything lol

That Soundcloud example is not something I'd imagine difficult for guitar emulators.kanoharuayu wrote:Hello, for a while now I've been trying to find a good rhythm guitar VST, I figured you guys would know. The problem with any of these types of virtual instrument is you have to put a lot of time into learning how the articulations work and how to physically play them before you can get any real idea about how they really respond. Short of that, you need to watch others play them etc.
I recently invested in some of the RealGuitar software, and am slowly starting to get into using them. I've been playing guitar for about 35 years, and although that gives some clues to how guitars are voiced, played etc., the act of actually strumming it out on a keyboard is pretty alien to me.
Anyway, I know that the RealGuitar stuff has supposedly been surpassed, but I still got a great feeling listening to demos by people who played them properly. Amped up with software (I'm using Guitar Rig 5), they sound much better, and if they do lack a little realism in sound, they seem to make up for it with the playability.
Bottom line: If you play most of these things like a real guitar, they will be hard to pick out

Just about any library with enough articulations, should be able to pull off that chugging rock guitar thing. You definitely need something with a lot of palm mute variations. I own and have used Electri6ity, Evolution Dracus and the entire Shreddage series.
Dracus is really thin sounding and doesn't have enough palm mute variations to pull off the kind of chugging you're looking for. It really doesn't work at all for the kind of Metal I produce either.. but it's great for clean and slightly overdriven stuff.
Have you checked out Evolution Rock Standard though? It has an extended palm muting sample section (half palm mutes). Really seems like what you are looking for.. though still a bit thin sounding IMO.
Shreddage might get you there.. but it's really geared more toward the harder side of Rock and Metal. Lots of palm mutes.
Electri6ity can do what you're looking for easily, but it has a really steep learning curve (and is very expensive). Most guitar libraries will have at least a mild learning curve. I use it for almost all my Extreme Metal projects.
I haven't bought into any Amplesound libraries, primarily because of it's tuning limitations.. but I've also heard it is kind of difficult to get it to do exactly what you want. Not 100% sure on that though.. maybe someone who owns it can chime in and give you a better assessment.
As an example of what I'm doing.. here's my latest: Cyrus Reynolds - The Wolves (Progtronic ReMix)
I'm using Electri6ity for the Metal guitar sections, and Dracus for the clean guitars in that example. Not at all what you're looking for, style wise.. but might give you an idea of the flexibility.

Don't do that...Aloysius wrote:Buy some guitar loops.
I mean, if you're even subtly thinking about loops.. consider this as a much better alternative:

At least the strums and tones will be somewhat programmable.

Not that much strumming (OP!) in this demo, anyway. 99% are picking/arp.progtronic wrote:Don't do that...Aloysius wrote:Buy some guitar loops.

Not that it necessarely tells all about the plugin, but that we do not know, after seeing this video only.

Sounds like an anime opening.
I think Shreddage could pull that off.

This may worth checking, not electric but maybe you could add some distortion. Just a thought?

Just get yourself an axe and be done with it...They are way sexier than some computer emulation.

It's pretty decent. Combine with something from NI Guitar Rig (if you have it).
But I really do agree more with thisjacqueslacouth wrote:Just get yourself an axe and be done with it...They are way sexier than some computer emulation.

I watched a few videos on that Electric Sunburst, and it seems to meet the need. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... -sunburst/progtronic wrote:Don't do that...Aloysius wrote:Buy some guitar loops.

At least the strums and tones will be somewhat programmable.
You cannot play solos with it, but seems to work well for strums, chords, and arpeggios, etc. Same engine as Strum Acoustic, but with a sampled electric. Exactly what you need for a guitar accompaniment (if you cannot play guitar, or don't have a real player handy).
Selling for $99 USD and works with the free Kontakt Player.
Windows 10 and too many plugins

If the NI follows the way, they implement the "Session" -series (Session Horns etc.), they will launch a pro-version this the electric guitar in the future.zzz00m wrote:I watched a few videos on that Electric Sunburst, and it seems to meet the need. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... -sunburst/progtronic wrote:Don't do that...Aloysius wrote:Buy some guitar loops.

BTW - does anyone know, how to check the value of NI E-Voucher in the account? I can see only the code and the expiration date of the voucher.
