Audio Brewers has announced the release of ab Encoder, a plugin that promises to simplify the process of encoding any type of audio signal to Ambisonics, without the need for manual tuning or speaker placement.
ab Encoder can encode Mono, Stereo, Quadraphonic 4.0, Surround 5.1, 7.1, 7.1.2 Atmos Beds, or 7.1.4 signals to Ambisonics (1OA, 2OA or 3OA) in seconds, thanks to its algorithm, written to simplify the process of setting multichannel sources.
ab Encoder automatically adapts its encoding algorithm to the track's width, adjusting the Ambisonics order that fits best.
Furthermore, the plugin includes a panner that allows users to place the encoded signal in a three-dimensional field, providing the flexibility to lift it, lower it, rotate it, and even increase the distance to the listener. This feature is particularly useful for creating soundscapes from traditional WAV files.
