Bitwig Studio has been updated to v2.1, a free update for all customers with an active upgrade plan.

Summary of what's new:

  • Inject some virtual analog grit into your sounds with the new Amp device.
  • MIDI Clock Slave functionality lets you sync up to external clocks.
  • Plenty of fixes and improvements.
  • New partner sound package: Irrupt Eurorack.
  • Over 150 high quality presets for numerous devices, including 7 new drum kits, 174 drum samples, and a multi-sampled electric guitar right at your finger tips.

Yeah but you still can't change time signatures, there's no support for video, and raw audio doesn't appropriately redraw and track when you've got tempo changes. Bitwig needs to stop adding toys and finally deliver some basic functionality that should have been working before this thing ever got out of beta.

There are some features that it may not do, but for what it does do, it is quite good at it when it comes to work flow, modulating sound and automation. As well as being able to craete clips of any time and automate right in the clip and launch clips instead of writing the traditional lay. Bitwig 2.1 does this very well.
