Sampleson has announced the release of Aeronaut, a plugin designed to turn any audio input into a cinematic soundscape.
Aeronaut takes any audio source — a guitar note, a single chord, a vocal whisper, or any incoming signal — and transforms it into a Hollywood-grade cinematic texture in real time.
By freezing and capturing fragments of the incoming audio, Aeronaut continuously morphs them with the live signal, creating rich, evolving atmospheres that naturally follow and respond to your playing.
A Different Approach to Cinematic Sound Design
At its core, Aeronaut analyzes incoming audio using spectral processing techniques and continuously reconstructs it in real time, creating rich evolving textures that respond to the source material.
The workflow is intentionally simple:
- Insert Aeronaut as FX on any audio or instrument track.
- Play any sound source.
- Use the Spaceshipness knob and the Decay parameter to manipulate the signal.
- Layer additional performances on top.
Sampleson says:
The result is a fast and intuitive way to create cinematic pads, drones, atmospheres, risers, and underscore elements without relying on sample libraries.
Freeze, Eternize and Layer
Aeronaut includes two parallel processing paths:
- A live spectral engine that continuously reacts to incoming audio.
- An integrated 10-second looper that can be independently frozen and layered.
Users can lock a spectral snapshot using the Eternize button, and build complex evolving atmospheres from simple performances.
Designed for Studio and Stage
For composers and producers, it offers a quick way to generate scoring beds, ambient layers, transitions, and cinematic textures directly from existing project material.
For performers, Aeronaut enables real-time creation of evolving atmospheres from guitars, vocals, keyboards, and other live sources, with low-latency processing and continuous layering capabilities.
Pricing & Availability
Aeronaut is available as a VST3 and AU effect plugin for macOS and Windows for the introductory price of $29 (Reg. $49) at sampleson.com/aeronaut
