VB-Audio Software has released a new version of Voicemeeter, a virtual audio device mixer designed to manage audio sources on Windows PC.
The new version has two major new features:
- The Voicemeeter Remote API to create new applications taking advantage of Voicemeeter Audio Engine and;
- the VBAN protocol to transport audio over IP on any local network infra structures.
Voicemeeter (1.0.4.5) and Voicemeeter Banana are (2.0.2.5) are now delivered with VoicemeeterRemote.dll and a first application using it: MacroButtons. This tool allows creating several buttons to control different functions of Voicemeeter just by writing simple requests or script. To mute several strips in a single click or launch a sound by a keyboard shortcut, Macro Button allows complex actions on Voicemeeter, like a "push-to-talk" function that also decreases gain on music strip, mutes other talkers, or changes your voice sound, or all in the same time.
Voicemeeter includes now VBAN functions to send or/and receive audio to/from other computers of your local network. This is made possible by a new UDP Protocol, designed for Audio Pro and Audiophiles, to transport multichannel audio in native PCM format (all sampling rate supported). Developed like a "RADIO" transmitter / receptor system, VBAN is designed to be simple to configure and allow a user to send one or several streams to one or several or all computers of the network.

With Voicemeeter Remote API VB-Audio is inviting developers who wish to manage or process audio in a user application with Voicemeeter connectivity features and audio interfaces, to join their forum and start to play with their tools.
