What Happened On KVR Last Week? (W/E Feb 22)

KVR Audio

It's round two of What Happened On KVR Last Week? Let's look back at the previous few days' news, product releases, videos, uploads, forum postings, etc. at KVR.

The featured news and deal spots were taken by Musicrow, with its release of The Sirens expansion pack for Absynth, and Digital Brain Instruments with its Sound Design Software Bundle giveaway (which actually runs until March 18, 2015).

We announced the winner of the KVR iZotope Ozone 6, Creative Mastering Platform Giveaway - congratulations again to Robert Thorpe from the United Kingdom who won a copy of iZotope's superb Ozone 6!

Waves released their dbx 160 Compressor/Limiter Plugin, which they announced at NAMM, while SKnote released a beta of Strip Console Emulation v3.0 for Mac OS X and Windows in AU and VST plugin formats.

Ample Sound rolled out the first version 2's of the Ample Guitar series - free updates for existing owners, which is nice.

Open Source Audio Research updated Protoplug, the "free, open-source VST/AU plugin that allows a user to load and edit Lua scripts as audio effects and instruments", adding a couple of useful new features.

Alex Hilton's A1StereoControl plugin now has AAX and RTAS plugin versions - a nice free plugin for Pro Tools users.

Aegean Music released Spirit Reverb for Mac OS X and Windows, a $40 plug-in that features authentic spring reverb and powerful digital reverb effects.

In the land of hardware MOTU is shipping the Ultralite AVB Hi-Quality Mobile Recording with Wi-Fi Control and Networking.

Do you ever find yourself in desperate need of a Flugelhorn? Well Ueberschall can sort us out with their new Flugelhorn - Elastik Soundbank. Pair this with Daniel Belik's Liner Horn for Kontakt and you could be on the road to inventing a new genre.

For iPad users, Igor Vasiliev released SoundScaper, an interesting app that turns your iPad into an experimental sound mini lab. Check out the intro video here.

On the forums:

OSC 72, the 72nd One Synth Challenge, is in its final week for submissions. There are loads of prizes on offer. Simply make a track using just Eclipsis by vstzone.sk to be in with a chance to win! Info here.

This musical misinformation thread is very entertaining - be careful, you may giggle away your day.

That's it for this week. If you see something interesting on KVR that you think we should feature next week, let us know (email contactus@kvraudio).
