Echobox D7 is a model of the echo mode of a very underappreciated (now discontinued) Japanese stomp-box, which itself was a digital remake of a famous American tape echo.

Great plugin which is quite versatile, easy to use and has a silky smooth sound.
One of the best free delays...
Thank you Sender Spike.
Your efforts to rebirth this delay have led to this VERY appreciative user.
Works great in Tracktion Waveform 11.
Thanks for feedback and your kind words;).
My pleasure.
Created an amazing soundscape with a simple synth drone and the DX by automating Delay Time and Repeat to each slowly sweep a through range of levels. The result is a very cool morphing / evolving pad. Only issue is that sweeping delay time produces very mild zippering glitches. Curious if this is resolvable. It may well be due to my under whelming system, yet CPU consumption is low for this edit.
Thoughts welcome.
Well, your system is not at fault (as also your CPU attests). To get that authentic sound I went with a slightly different algorithm than what is usually used for tape echo emulations, alas it has those "vinyl static" artifacts you've encountered when changing the delay time. Essentially it's a discontinuity in the buffer playback. To be honest, I have currently no clue how to (efficiently) solve it, while also preserving the sweep timbre. After the initial release I tried some things, but without much luck (most of the attempts make it even worse). However, I'm playing with some ideas that are loosely tied to it, so, if some "eureka" moment strikes me, I will definitely address this issue - it's basically the only thing that is still lacking in D7 (though I plan to leave that "scratchy knob" as an option too).
Thanks for your articulate, and super helpful response.
Very cool that you're experimenting with possible solutions, and that even if you do come up with a resolution, you'll leave the vinyl static as an option. Brilliant! That's exactly what it sounds like, and actually sounds great for a noise artifact. In certain production applications, this would be very welcome. My drone pad isn't a great place for it, yet because it does sound very vinyl-ish, I found myself imagining I was listening on that format. :).
Gratefully.
P.
Maybe it was your positive energy, but it appears to be solved (v1.30). Enjoy and thanks for encouragement :).
Massive cheers.
Grateful and honored to have the opportunity to lend my "positive energy" to the cause. :).
I've got my evolving pad playing as I type, with zero static artifacts... until I employ the Static button.
I love this delay, hope others discover it's goodness and spread the word.
I joined your Patreon at the minimum, in that I'm suddenly an unemployed musician due to the pandemic.
Whoops... make that Dust, not static. :).
> Dust, not static.
LOL, yeah I got what you meant;) Anyway, it really may seem strange, but only after our back and forth on the topic of "vinyl static" the solution suddenly came to me without much effort on my part. Make of that what you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but this universe we live in is simply marvelous :D.

Thank you very much, the way you put it reminds me of an ancient story about a poor widow, rich men, and their respective offerings. Just please don't starve because of me, you don't owe me anything after all;).
Vinyl Dust Static.
Yes, we do live in a marvelous universe, which includes the ability to communicate and collaborate on these channels. It gives me great pleasure to have helped simplify your resolution process by simply showing up and having a conversation that you were gracious enough to respond to and helpfully engage in.
You are welcome. My gift is a tiny token of support, which I feel compelled to give, in that I deeply appreciate what it takes to offer and support gifts such as yours.
Splendid. We are on the same page as it seems;) The pleasure of our mutual communication and accepting your token of support is all mine :).
Hey Yo, I just made a number of comments on your WordPress site, which I'm hoping made it to you for review. I got onto a WordPress account sorting issue that makes me wonder if my comments went into the void of no return. Hope Not.
Hi, there;) (All?) three comments arrived.
