GeoClarinet runs inside GeoShred Studio, where the clarinet's full tonal range, from the dark chalumeau register through the clarion break and into the altissimo, is accessible on GeoShred's multi-row continuous pitch surface. Move across the grid to navigate the instrument's three-and-a-half-octave range; press into the surface to shape embouchure pressure, reed dynamics, and the subtle tonal shifts between registers in real time. The register break that players train for years to cross cleanly responds as a continuous function of breath pressure and gesture input. The SWAM engine models the underlying cylindrical-bore acoustics; GeoShred Studio's integrated FX rack delivers reverb, echo, and amp modeling throughout the performance chain.

The Clarinet's Acoustic Identity

The clarinet's cylindrical bore suppresses even harmonics and causes it to overblow at the twelfth rather than the octave, producing two acoustically distinct registers: the chalumeau (low, dark, reedy) and the clarion (bright, full, projecting), separated by a break that defines the instrument's character. GeoShred Studio brings the full physical transition between registers under continuous control of breath pressure and embouchure gesture, delivering one unified acoustic process across over three and a half octaves.
