Cakewalk releases Free Demo Versions of SONAR 2015

Cakewalk has announced that it is offering free downloadable demos of the entire new SONAR product lineup (Artist, Professional, and Platinum versions).

These demo versions do not expire, and are updatable as new releases become available. Musicians can freely explore SONAR's benefits prior to making a purchase, allowing them to select the SONAR version that best fits their needs. Although save and export are unavailable, files from previous SONAR versions can be opened.

All three new SONAR versions offer the same core features—touch control, unlimited tracks/FX/sends/buses, VST3/VST2/DirectX compatibility, video track, support for high-resolution audio via DSD compatibility and sample rates to 384 kHz, enhanced MIDI editing, Mix Recall for switching quickly among different mixes, advanced publishing options, innovative "one-stop solution" effects chains, amp simulations, advanced comping, and much more—while the Skylight User Interface contributes inspiring and efficient workflow.

The three versions target specific recording needs:

  1. SONAR Artist ($99) provides feature-packed recording software.
  2. SONAR Professional ($199) folds in the analog-style, expandable ProChannel Console Strip as well as Melodyne pitch correction and a rich set of plug-ins.
  3. SONAR Platinum ($499) features an array of features, plug-in effects, and instruments to offer flexibility to pros who need to handle any kind of recording or mixing production. Advanced tools include Console and Tape emulation, VocalSync for tightening vocals or matching dialog to picture, advanced drum replacement, convolution reverb, and other "power tools" that complement the workflow.
