SynthFont has been updated to v0.9.9.2.

New features:
  • Viena: added "Purge unused items" (i.e. instruments and samples) to the Edit menu. Use it to clean up and compact a SoundFont.
  • Viena: added a button to switch to SynthFont's main window. Then, press the Viena button to get back. Useful when both windows are maximized.
  • Viena: When adding sample files, you can check two checkboxes at the bottom of the file open dialog to automatically create a new instrument and preset.
  • Viena: When creating instrument splits from samples, you can let Viena automatically distribute the sample over the keyboard. The same function also lets you manually quickly define the keyboard ranges for the samples.
  • You can now change the preset also while playing. Press the button above the "SF2 Prog" column in Tracks pane.
  • You can use the ESC key to close the Setup dialog and the Presets dialog (see above). Also use ESC to quite editing of track name (F2).
  • You can use UP/DOWN arrows to quickly scan the presets (very useful in the Layers pane).
  • The status of the Tracks/FIT button is now stored in the SynthFont.ini file.
  • There's a new function (new button, new popup menu item) for re-arranging and assigning split regions. Also, when assigning new audio waves to an instrument, you can check the box at the bottom of the dialog to call this function.
  • Software programmers: you can send a few messages to SynthFont using Windows standard SendMessage function. See then Help file for more info.

Bug fixes:

  • Viena: removing unused instruments did not work correctly.
  • Viena: deleting a Preset would not update the TreeView correctly.
  • Viena: adding audio samples; optional root note and loop points were not read from the file.
  • SynthFont could not read RMID files (MIDI encoded within a RIFF structure).
  • Corrected a bug in the GIGA file reading routine.
  • Changed the behavior of the Modulation Wheel (made it "softer").
  • Some audio files were just not read correctly.
  • In percussion tracks: switching to a percussion preset that was not found in the SoundFont would result in a preset from the melodic bank instead of from the percussion bank.
  • Fixed "All Notes Off" controller - would also switch off notes for other channels.
  • Fixed display of VSTi windows when several tracks share the same effect instance.
