We announced the winners of the KVR Developer Challenge 2012 a few weeks ago and the cash prizes were sent out to the four main winners before Christmas. The final prize fund was $2360. Thanks to everyone who donated!
Overall winner, Variety Of Sound (KVR member bootsie) very generously asked us to donate his winnings to the Hurricane Sandy relief fund, which we did in his name just before Christmas.
As for the remaining "wildcard" 10%... After much deliberation and discussion we decided to give it to what was probably the most unusual entry: VST Plugin Preset Match by Christian Budde, an interesting idea, not without its issues, but we admire the creative thinking. He says that in honor of this prize, he will release the entire project under an open source license (currently only the framework is open source) and use the money for further development on this and some of his other tools aimed at audio plug-in developers and users. We salute you Christian!
