Revitar is capable of producing a wide range of guitar sounds from acoustic to slap bass. Revitar employs unique string simulation software to model the position, velocity and momentum of 120 points along each guitar string 44,100 times a second. This string simulation is capable of modeling sympathetic resonance, slap effects, pluck position and vibrato along with many others. All of this is done without the use of sound samples, so no two notes sound exactly alike.

For ease of use, a chord section is included so that entire chords can be played with a single keystroke. Seven types of chords may be chosen from, along with the rate and direction from which to strum the chord. For solos, a mono switch can also be used to play all notes on the same string.

  • Complete MIDI control.
  • Controls for bass, treble and sympathetic resonance.
  • Control note duration with two types of damping: bridge and string.
  • Vibrato.
  • Adjust the position of plucking and pick ip.
  • Change the height of the frets.
  • Automatically play 7 types of chords.
  • 4 note polyphonic.

Ok, first review time and for a plug that I like more and more. I've always wanted to use rhythm guitar in my songs, but I can't play a note and haven't time to learn. Virtual Guitarist looked fun, but at the end of the day it's all samples - and I wanted more flexibility. Slayer was pretty close, but you could only strum downwards and its amp modelling was a little variable. I despaired, until...

... enter Revitar. A simple interface (that sadly looks nothing like a guitar) hides tremendous "tweakability" and a cracking string sound. You can mute, damp the strings, damp using your "palm", change the tone of the strings... and best of all, strum a wide range of easily from your keyboard. All of these controls can be manipulated via MIDI, so if you work at it you can achieve some very realistic rhythms.

All of this is great, BUT... the real killer is to use it with an amp sim. As I can't afford Amplitube, that means Green Machine or JCM9000. Now we're cooking. Lovely distorted rhythm to chug along with your tracks. Combine this with high quality lead and bass guitar samples, add a dose of drums and away you go - your very own VSTi band.

It's cheap, it's great to use and it's a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

In my opinion Revitar is the best acoustic guitar simulation VSTi (physical modelling).

Sound, Features, pdf Manual, Customer Support, Value For Money, Stability are very good, so I have no critics about that.

User Interface could be a bit more guitar like, the Presets could be some more (the existing are good). The CPU load is a bit high, but that´s because of the really good modelled sound quality.

For that price you can´t do something wrong to buy it.
