rncbc.org has announced the New Year's Winter'22 release of Qtractor version 0.9.25, and Vee One Suite version 0.9.24 of old-school software instruments, for the GNU/Linux realm.
Qtractor is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio.
Changes for this New Year's release are as follows:
- Hopefully fixed an old MIDI off-timing bug noticeable only when exporting (Track/Export Tracks/Audio...) on large buffer-sizes (>= 2K frames/period).
- Clip/File Loop Set menu command is now a toggle.
- Fixed problem with punch-in/out and loop-recording being lost when stopping the play-head right after and between the loop-start and punch-in points, even though at least one cycle or take is through.
- Dropped autotools (autoconf, automake, etc.) build system.
- A more verbose warning question is issued, on whether to continue saving to an existing zip/archive directory and accept to replace and erase all its current data in the future.
- Fixed potential crash on session close or application exit, when some plugins have been removed.

The Vee One Suite is comprised of four separate, autonomous software instruments, which are:
- Synthv1 - a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer.
- Samplv1 - a polyphonic sampler synthesizer.
- Drumkv1 - a drum-kit sampler synthesizer.
- Padthv1 - a polyphonic additive synthesizer.
All delivered in two forms:
- A pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non/New Session Management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
- A LV2 instrument plugin.
Changes for this release are rather janitorial:
- Dropped autotools (autoconf, automake, etc.) build system.
- Fixed deprecate warnings in preparation for Qt >= 6.2.
